Sporting a full HD screen, the Galaxy S5 is perfect for watching videos. Besides resolution, it is also packed with about 432 pixels in every inch of its 5.1-inch real estate and 16M colours for richly colored pictures at any angle.
4K videos are now possible thanks to the 16MP rear camera, the front facing camera is only decent for taking self-portraits. The rear camera is the highlight, though, with plenty of features like OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and selective focus that can narrow on a single object and blur the rest. Pictures from this camera are a delight, too, and can even be used professionally, making the S5 a photographer’s dream.
The S5’s launch saw the advent of 64-bit processors which are a lot more powerful and faster than previous versions. Add to that a 2.5Ghz Quad core clock speed and you have yourself a beast capable of blazing through any app you open. Graphics are handled by an amazing GPU, the Adreno 330, add to that a 2GB RAM for guaranteed awesome game performance and multitasking.
Samsung have not yet conformed to the glass and aluminium build, instead, the S5 has a leather back and the sides circled with an aluminium band. It still has a premium feel in the hand, and the removable back certainly makes it more flexible compared to others in its class.
Building on the Galaxy S4’s pedometer, a heartrate monitor is now included that takes note of your heartbeat just by placing your finger against the sensor. It is also among the first water-resistant devices in the market and can survive being placed underwater for one-and-a-half hours. Other features include gestures, barometer and a fingerprint reader. All-in-all, one heck of a smartphone.
The S5 only has 16GB internal memory, although there is also a 32GB variant in the market. However, because the back cover is removable, you can expand the device’s capacity by up to 128GB with the use of an SD card which is more than you will ever need.
In the end, battery life will dictate how much you enjoy all the features above, which is why it’s outfitted with a 2,800mAh battery which can also be removed and replaced with a spare in case it runs out. It shouldn’t though, at least not quickly, because it is enough to take you through the day and even more if you take advantage of the power-saving mode.

All our products are genuine and authentic, and to put money where our mouth is, a 9 months long warranty is applicable for any product bought from Callcom. This is to recognize that sometimes things may go wrong but because the customer ‘s needs are always put first; we will go the extra length to ensure you get what you paid for.
This is the basic type of warranty automatically applied to all products. It covers issues of faulty items within the period of the warranty and any replacements or repairs done will be free of charge.
If the item stops working after some time, contact us immediately for support. Some issues can be quickly solved by our technical staff over the phone in which case further assistance isn’t necessary. If not, send the product to us via mail if you are far away or bring it yourself to our office.
Repairs may take time if the parts are not available locally but most of the time the repairs only take a few days. Once completed, we will contact you to collect the product or just mail it back to you.
When you receive your product and it doesn’t work, this is classified as a dead-on-arrival situation. In this case, return the product back to us within 7 days since purchasing it and receive an immediate replacement.
For further protection, an extended warranty covers more problems for added peace of mind. A 6-month extended warranty costs $50+gst and covers problems that may occur as a result of normal usage. These may include:
Wear and tear coverage: it’s easy to distinguish a new device from a used one based on the external wear signs. Further wear and tear occurs inside as a result of dust and moisture, which may lead to problems down the road.
On-site service: for bulky items, we come to you and offer our services hence saving you time and money.
No lemon guarantee: if you have already had the product repaired 2 times, the next time you face a problem, we will replace the entire product and avoid future problems.
$1,200 replacement: for repairs costing upwards of $1,200, the item will just be replaced with the same exact specifications to save time.
Countrywide coverage: this warranty offers you guaranteed service from any service centre or repair technician across NewZealand provided they deal with electronics.
Transferrable: this warranty is transferrable in case you sell it of give it away. Just remember to send us a proof of transfer such as a receipt and contacting our customer care service team.
Health check: just like a medical checkup, you can send the product to us to examine any possibilities of an error with the parts.
