It is only fair to compare two devices released at roughly the same time and which are also quite similar in size. The Note 5 and the 6S+ are the best phablets in the market at the moment, and you will have to choose between the two if you don't mind a super-sized smartphone. Such large devices allow the manufacturers to manipulate most aspects of the device and make it as perfect as possible. In essence, a phablet is the culmination of a manufacturer's attributes and you should expect nothing but the best. Let's get into it:
AMOLED vs. LCD remains to be the question, and each technology has its merits and downsides. Suffice it to say, AMOLED displays on the Note 5 ensures colours are bright, brilliant makes them pop out. Furthermore, Samsung crammed as many pixels as possible in every inch of the screen, creating a magnificent display that is extremely crisp in all lighting conditions.
The iPhone 6S+, on the other hand, does not have as many pixels or as high a resolution, but the LCD technology keeps colours natural neutral and closer to reality. Text and pictures are still very crisp, and there won't be much of a difference between the two.
The iPhone 6S+ sports a 12MP camera while the Note 5 has a 16MP camera, but believe me, that does not make a difference. The two companies utilize different technologies that ensures excellent picture quality on both devices. Both of them can take 4K videos, too, which maximizes video quality. It is difficult to tell pictures taken from the two devices apart because they are both magnificent in all lighting conditions, hence, there is no clear winner.
In such a close race, the way the devices operate matter a lot more. We have TouchWiz on the Note 5 and the usual design of iOS on the iPhone 6S+. Both are smooth to operate but TouchWiz is much more flexible, allowing you to change icons, themes and fonts but you have to stick to what you get with iOS on the iPhone. For this reason, the Note 5 is more superior, allowing you to customize your device as per your taste.
After complaints about bending on the iPhone 6+, Apple strengthened the iPhone 6S+ chassis to prevent such bending. Samsung, too, made a few changes in design, primarily with the use of glass in the back instead of the fake leather material on its predecessor. Now that the two devices have perfected their design, debate only arises from the differences between aluminium and glass. Whichever you choose, however, you can be guaranteed to experience a premium device you will be proud to hold and use.
Samsung offers more features compared to the iPhone's simple philosophy. I'm sure there are those who prefer the simple nature of the iPhone, but for me, I always like a device I can play around with, one that has plenty of toys.
